Behemoth Godless IV 2026 Tour Turns Buffalo Into a Black Mass

Behemoth turned Buffalo RiverWorks into something far beyond a concert, delivering a crushing and visually intense performance that felt more like a ritual than a performance. With powerful sets from Deicide, Rotting Christ, and Immolation setting the stage, the night built into a full force experience of sound, atmosphere, and precision. From the opening moments to the final chant, this was extreme metal at its most immersive.

Extreme metal took over Buffalo RiverWorks as Behemoth brought their Godless IV Tour to Buffalo, New York, alongside Deicide, Rotting Christ, and Immolation. What unfolded was a relentless and immersive night that blended sheer sonic force with dark theatrical presentation. Fans packed the industrial space tightly, dressed in black and fully locked in, as the room filled with pounding drums, crushing riffs, and an atmosphere that felt heavy from the first note.
Immolation opened the night with a performance built on precision and control. Their set leaned into technical strength, creating a dense and serious tone that settled over the crowd. Rather than overwhelming, they focused on tightening the atmosphere, drawing the audience in with a sound that felt deliberate and grounded.
Rotting Christ followed by raising the intensity without losing that sense of purpose. Their presence was immediate and commanding, with constant movement on stage and the kind of energy that spreads quickly through a crowd. Headbanging and spinning hair turned into a visual rhythm of their own, while their mix of Greek and English lyrics added a layered and almost ritual feel. Songs like “Elthe Kyrie” pulsed through the venue, while “Grandis Spiritus Diavolos” closed their set in a surge of movement and noise. Frontman Sakis Tolis kept a steady connection with the audience, noting how each visit to the United States seems to bring bigger crowds. Behind him, Themis Tolis drove the performance with powerful and consistent drumming that pushed the energy forward and sparked waves of crowd surfing across the floor.
Deicide took everything that had been building and pushed it into full motion. Their set felt immediate and physical, opening the pit and locking the crowd into a steady surge of movement. Glen Benton delivered one of the most dynamic vocal performances of the night, shifting between deep guttural tones, piercing high screams, and classic extreme metal vocals that carried across the room. Guitarists Taylor Nordberg and Jadran Gonzalez played with speed and sharp coordination, trading riffs and solos with a seamless flow that kept the momentum high. Steve Asheim maintained a relentless pace behind the kit, never letting the intensity drop. By the end of their set, the crowd was fully engaged and ready for the headliner.

As the lights dimmed and a looming overture filled the space, Behemoth stepped onto the stage and immediately transformed the room. The shift was noticeable. This was no longer just a concert. It felt like a fully realized performance built around imagery, sound, and structure. Vocalist Adam “Nergal” Darski stood at the center, covered in corpse paint that extended across his body, at one point wearing a dark ceremonial headpiece that added to the visual impact. His presence was controlled but powerful, guiding the performance without needing constant interaction. Vocally, he delivered with precision and range, shifting between commanding mid range snarls and deeper, more guttural tones that carried clearly across the venue. His guitar work remained tight and deliberate, locking in with the rhythm section while still cutting through with sharp, defined riffs. Even in moments of stillness, he held the crowd’s attention, using subtle movements and timing to build tension before driving back into the intensity of the set.
Patryk “Seth” Sztyber on rhythm guitar, Tomasz “Orion” WrĂłblewski on bass, and Zbigniew “Inferno” PromiĹ„ski on drums moved with purpose around him, each contributing to a stage presence that felt unified and intentional. Seth delivered sharp, driving riffs with precision while stepping forward at key moments to engage the crowd, Orion anchored the low end with a commanding presence and fluid movement across the stage, and Inferno powered the entire performance from behind the kit with relentless speed and technical control that never wavered. The lighting changed dramatically from song to song, casting shadows and flashes that matched the tone of the music. The band used the full stage, with movement that felt planned but never stiff, adding to the sense that every detail had been carefully considered.

The set moved through a mix of newer material and established songs, including “The Shadow Elite”, “Nomen Barbarvm”, “Conquer All”, “Ov Fire and the Void”, and“Blow Your Trumpets Gabriel”. Each track carried its own weight, but together they formed a continuous flow that kept the audience engaged from start to finish. At one point, the chant of ‘Eat my flesh drink my blood’ echoed through the venue, uniting the crowd in a moment that felt intense and strangely synchronized.
What stood out most was how structured the entire performance felt. Nothing was rushed and nothing felt out of place. The pacing allowed each moment to land while still maintaining a strong sense of momentum. Nergal remained steady at the center, stepping out at key moments before returning to anchor the performance. It was polished without losing its edge.
By the end of the night, Behemoth delivered more than a closing set. They created an experience that combined sound, imagery, and performance into something that felt complete. Whether or not their themes connect with every listener, the level of execution is hard to ignore. This performance did not just meet expectations. It stood on its own as a powerful and memorable display of what the band is capable of live.
