John Petrucci solo tour – Buffalo, NY

Grammy award winning guitarist, John Petrucci, brought his solo headline tour to the Town Ballroom on Sunday October 9th.

He also brought along with him his former Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy. The pair haven’t played live together in over a decade. Joined by Dave Larue on bass, the trio performed an 11 song setlist, mainly songs promoting Petrucci’s 2020 release , “Terminal Velocity” as well as a few off his 2005 solo album, “Suspended Animation”.

Petrucci, who has been labeled as one of the best progressive guitarist of all time, displayed his shredding skills as well as his ability to be so precise.

Opening for the instrumental triad, was the recently reunited Meanstreak, an all female band comprised of the some of Dream Theater member’s wives. Members include Bettina France {vocals}, Marlene Portnoy & Rena Sands {guitar}, Martens Myung {bass} and Yael {drums}.
