A classic thrash package featuring Incite and Vio-lence in support of Death Angel brought a high intensity night to Electric City in Buffalo, New York, as the Act III anniversary celebration marked 36 years of one of thrash metal’s defining records. The crowd skewed heavily toward the 40 plus demographic, fitting for a lineup built on legacy, endurance, and sustained aggression.

Incite opened the night with immediate force. Fronted by Richie Cavalera, the band blended classic thrash energy with modern groove metal heaviness, landing somewhere between Pantera and Lamb of God with Slayer level bite. Tracks from recent releases like No Mercy No Forgiveness, Lies, and Deadbeat connected early with arriving fans. Richardson’s lead work added flashes of flair, including a brief behind the back moment, while the rhythm section of Derek Lennon Lopez and Christopher EL Elsten kept everything tight and driving. It was a straightforward, aggressive set that effectively set the tone.

Vio-lence followed with a noticeably louder reaction and immediate crowd engagement. Although only vocalist Sean Killian remains from the original lineup, the current touring band played with sharp cohesion and real bite. Guitarist Ira Black stood out throughout, delivering aggressive riffs and expressive leads that matched the band’s chaotic energy.

Their set leaned heavily on Eternal Nightmare and Oppressing the Masses, with early cuts like Eternal Nightmare, Serial Killer, Phobophobia, and Kill on Command triggering the first serious pit activity of the night. Newer material such as Upon Their Cross and Ageless Eyes blended in without slowing momentum. The closer World in a World capped a set defined by velocity, precision, and a constant push from stage to crowd.

By the time Death Angel took the stage, the venue was packed and fully locked in. Opening with Seemingly Endless Time from Act III set the foundation for a set that treated the album as both celebration and statement. Vocalist Mark Osegueda remained in top form, cutting cleanly through the mix even as the crowd stayed in constant motion.

The dual guitar attack of Rob Cavestany and Ted Aguilar anchored the performance, especially on Stop and A Room With a View, where dynamics and melody added depth to the intensity. The rhythm section of Will Carroll and Damien Sisson kept everything relentless but controlled, allowing the band to shift between speed and atmosphere without losing impact.

Act III tracks like Seemingly Endless Time, Stagnant, and A Room With a View carried both weight and precision, while later additions such as The Moth, Lost, and Cult of the Used expanded the set beyond the anniversary focus. Humanicide and Thrown to the Wolves closed the main set and encore run with maximum intensity, keeping the pit active until the very end.
