Tom Keifer Band and L.A. Guns Rock the House with Vintage Fire and Modern Edge

Tom Keifer Band – Agora Theatre, Cleveland, Ohio

Rock fans were treated to a blast of gritty guitar riffs, raspy vocals, and ol’ school attitude as Tom Keifer Band and L.A. Guns took the stage at Cleveland’s historic Agora Theatre. For anyone who grew up on late ’80s hard rock; or just appreciates raw, high energy performances, this was a night to remember.

When Tom Keifer Band and L.A. Guns rolled into Cleveland’s Agora Theatre, fans knew they were in for a night of loud guitars and true rock energy. What they might not have expected was how thoughtful the venue setup would be. Instead of the usual general admission crowd crush, seats were placed in areas that are typically standing room only. Given the average age of the audience, it was a smart move. It gave everyone more space to enjoy the show, move around, and stay comfortable without sacrificing the electric atmosphere.

L.A. Guns hit the stage first and didn’t waste a second getting the crowd fired up. Guitarist, Tracii Guns was effortlessly cool, ripping through solos with that bluesy edge he’s known for. Vocalist, Phil Lewis hasn’t lost a single step vocally and worked the crowd like a pro. Their set was the perfect mix of old favorites and newer material. Classics like Electric Gypsy, Sex Action, and Over the Edge lit the place up, while newer tracks like Cannonball and Like a Drug blended right in, proving the band isn’t just living in the past. They’re still creating, still evolving, and still rocking with serious conviction.

The band’s current lineup; bassist Johnny Martin, guitarist Ace Von Johnson, and drummer Shawn Duncan, has been solid since 2022 and plays like a seasoned force. With a catalog as deep and a live show this tight, they honestly deserve a longer set. Arguably one of the best bands of the 80’s era, a headlining slot would give them room to explore more of the gems that rarely get stage time.

One of the night’s biggest surprises came when Tim “Ripper” Owens, former touring mate and vocalist for KK’s Priest, made a guest appearance. A Cleveland native himself, Owens was greeted with a loud cheer as he walked onto the stage, with many anticipating a quick performance. Sadly, that did not happen however his presence still added to the hometown energy already running high in the room. They dedicated Lucky Motherfucker off their latest album Leopard Skin to Owens, as he left the stage.

Then it was Tom Keifer’s turn, and he took the stage like a man on a mission. Backed by a powerhouse band that’s been with him for years now, Keifer delivered a set that felt both classic and completely alive. He opened with Touching the Divine, setting the tone with a blues-soaked punch of modern hard rock. From there it was a steady climb through the best of Cinderella and beyond. Coming Home, Nobody’s Fool, and Somebody Save Me all hit with that signature grit and emotion that made Keifer famous, but the newer tracks held their ground. Solid Ground and The Death of Me brought introspective lyrics wrapped in thick riffs and pounding drums.

Keifer’s voice remains one of the most unique in rock. It’s still raw and expressive, maybe even more so now with the life he’s lived. That came through especially during Don’t Know What You Got {Till It’s Gone}, where the crowd took over the chorus in a moment that felt both personal and powerful. The encore was pure fire as they closed the night with Gypsy Road, leaving the audience on an undeniable high.

The band featuring Tony Higbee on guitar, Luis Espaillat on bass, Jarred Pope on drums, Kory Myers on keys, and vocalists Savannah Keifer and Tanya Davis; has become one of the most solid touring units in rock. They bring energy, tight musicianship, and a real sense of chemistry that elevates the entire show.

This wasn’t just a nostalgia trip. It was a rock and roll revival. Both L.A. Guns and Tom Keifer Band delivered passionate, high energy sets that showed they’re not just surviving the decades; they’re still thriving. If this tour comes to your town, don not hesitate to go!! These bands aren’t content to live off their past. They’re still writing, still performing, and still proving that rock and roll is far from dead.
