Revolutions Live Tour Bring an End to the Summer in Syracuse, NY
Shinedown, Papa Roach and Spiritbox help usher out the summer concerts at St Joseph’s Health Amphitheater in Syracuse, NY.
Almost exactly a year to the date of their Planet Zero tour, Shinedown brought their Revolutions tour back to Syracuse, NY. This time they shared the road and stage with Papa Roach and Spiritbox.
Still out on the road in support of their 2022 release, Planet Zero, the band has changed up the setlist quite a bit so as not to seem stale for diehard fans. This time around we were treated to Dead Don’t Die as well as Symptom of Being Human off the latest album.
The 19 song setlist had a great mix of songs from the extensive catalog. They could not escape playing one their biggest hits, Simple Man, quite possibly the best cover of the Lynyrd Skynyrd tune. They also chose to play a cover of Jimmy Eats World’s The Middle. Singer Brent Smith, guitarist Zach Meyers, bassist Eric Bass along with drummer Barry Kerch always seem to deliver the entertainment aspect of a live show as well as the musicianship one expects from a live performance.

Veteran touring band, Papa Roach, know how to put on a show! Singer Jacoby Shaddix, started the bands set with Between Angel and Insects, a song despite being 23years old embodies current feelings of many. The band had the crowds full attention right out of the gate, something Shaddix made sure continued as he jumped off the stage and ran through the crowd singing ..To Be Loved, and fist bumping fans. The 13song performance included some of the band’s greatest hits such as Last Resort, Scars, Getting Away With Murder as well as 2 great cover songs, 2Pac’s California Love that led into Prodigy’s Firestarter as he made his way back to the stage.
As most fans already know, mental health is a big deal to the members of Papa Roach. They took a moment to discuss reaching out when you need help, feel hopeless. Shaddix then informed the crowd they were donating part of their tour proceeds to the Scars Foundation from each show. After a video message explaining the importance of the foundation and people’s well being in general the band performed the song Leave A Light On.

They put on a good show and I look forward to the seeing them play a longer than the 7 song set as openers. They have a new album The Fear of Fear coming out November 3rd.
