Faster Pussycat Delivered Sweat, Sleaze, and Rock ‘n’ Roll To Buffalo Iron Works

On an oppressively hot Tuesday night during a blistering heatwave, Buffalo Iron Works played host to a night of no-holds-barred rock and roll, headlined by sleaze-rock veterans Faster Pussycat and backed by a powerhouse lineup: The Supersuckers, The Rumours, and The Lonely Ones. Despite the soaring temperatures, the near-capacity crowd brought the energy—and every band on the bill delivered!

Kicking off the night were The Lonely Ones, who hit the stage with the explosive “Bedroom Door.” While the venue was still filling in, early arrivals were treated to an intimate and dynamic set from the Columbus-based trio. Born from the ashes of Bobaflex, the band—Marty McCoy (bass/vocals), Tristan Woodruff (drums), and Jymmy Tolland (guitar)—have found a more melodic, focused direction without sacrificing the punch of their hard rock roots.
Their seven-song set showcased tight harmonies, gritty riffs, and a band clearly hungry for wider recognition. The standout closer “Don’t Cry” seamlessly segued into a surprise rendition of Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway to Heaven”.
Next up were Iowa punk trio The Rumours, who hit the stage like a runaway train. Fronted by the electric duo of Carli Foxx and Ela Rosend, their 45-minute set was a brash, high-energy barrage rooted in their latest release Kill or Be Killed. Think snarling guitars, pounding rhythms, and that riot grrrl attitude of the ‘90s—rebellious, raw, and wholly authentic.
They tore through their set with charisma and unfiltered punk energy, feeding off the crowd and offering up some of the most memorable stage banter of the night. Whether you knew them before or not, by the end of their performance, The Rumours had won over a lot of new fans.

The self-described “Greatest Rock and Roll Band in the World” lived up to the hype with a defiant and tight nine-song set. The Supersuckers opened with the rowdy barroom classic “Pretty Fucked Up”—a song also famously covered by Faster Pussycat—signaling the natural chemistry between the tour mates.
Led by frontman Edward “Eddie Spaghetti” Daly, with “Metal” Marty Chandler on guitar and Christopher “Chango” von Streicher behind the kit, the band delivered a rollicking performance that balanced punk grit with outlaw country charm. Their decades of touring experience showed, and the crowd gave them the kind of love reserved for cult heroes who never sold out—and never had to.

By the time Faster Pussycat took the stage just before 10 p.m., the venue was buzzing. Led by original frontman Taime Downe, the band dove into their set with “Motorbike,” their latest single, and didn’t let up. Focusing largely on material from their first three albums—plus a handful of newer tracks—the set was a throwback in all the right ways.
Downe, while not especially chatty with the crowd, delivered vocally with veteran confidence. Guitarist Sam Bam Koltun, bassist Danny Nordahl, drummer Chad Stewart, and rhythm guitarist Kieran Robertson brought the noise and chemistry that made the band’s early work legendary. Highlights included fan favorites like “Don’t Change That Song,” “Cathouse,” “Where There’s a Whip,” and the always-emotional “House of Pain.”
In a fun moment of camaraderie, Supersuckers’ Daly stepped in on bass for “Bathroom Wall,” giving Nordahl a brief rest due to a flare-up of a past shoulder injury—a small gesture that emphasized the close-knit, brotherly vibe of this tour.

From rising acts like The Rumours and The Lonely Ones to seasoned road warriors like The Supersuckers and Faster Pussycat, this tour is a multi-generational celebration of loud, unfiltered, unapologetic rock and roll. The kind of night that reminds you why you fell in love with live music in the first place.
If this tour comes through your town, don’t sleep on it. This is the sound of rock history—sweaty, gritty, and still gloriously alive.
