Crobot Leaves Crowd Dizzy In Buffalo, NY
Once called metal’s best kept secret, Crobot treated the crowd in Buffalo, NY to a taste of their sludgy hard rock as they joined fellow stoner rockers, CKY on their 25th anniversary tour. Crobot was out in support of their brand new release Obsidian, which dropped a mere 13 days earlier.
Crobot is comprised of vocalist, Brandon Yeagley, guitarist Chris Bishop, drummer Dan Ryan and newest member, bassist Pat Seals. Self described as ‘dirty, groove rock’ the four piece performed crowd favorites such as Dizzy and Low Life. It seemed with the short set time allotted as openers, they chose to focus on songs off Obsidian and did not leave room for anything off the 2016 album Welcome to Fat City.
Despite the small stage at Iron Works, Yeagley and bandmates were full of energy and very animated while performing. I kept finding myself curious how they could dominate a larger stage, especially every time Seals would spin and jump. To better understand their sense of humor, they were joined on stage by the infamous cryptid, Bigfoot, during the song Nothing. Bigfoot also makes an appearance in the video for the song released last month. Yeagley has a dynamic stage presence and knows how to command attention.
Crobot has hints of classic rock bands yet have their own original sound. One thing about Crobot that few bands now a days have is the ability to deliver what you hear on recording to the audience live. I look forward to the next time they come through, every time I get the chance to see them.
