Buckcherry Perform at Crewfest ’24 in Brantford, Ontario

Crewfest ’24 in Brantford, Ontario, Canada was a two day festival that showcased a number of bands from both the USA as well as Canada. One of the highlights on Friday’s line-up was California natives, Buckcherry.

Bluesy-rock band, Buckcherry having been around for quite some time, are no stranger to playing festivals. A few line up changes over those years have occurred however the current one is a solid group of seasoned musicians. Vocalist Josh Todd and lead guitarist Stevie D. are joined by bassist Kelly LeMieux, drummer Francis Ruiz and “newest” member guitarist Billy Rowe joined in 2020. They compliment each other well.

They almost did not play the show due to instruments being held up at customs, thankfully it all worked out in time for them to hit the stage at 7:30pm. Josh Todd hit the stage in a black blazer, a blackcraft cult tshirt and black shredded jeans. The blazer & t-shirt quickly came off after a few songs to reveal his fully tattooed torso. Known for their energic live performances, the members of Buckcherry delivered. Whether it was Stevie D jumping around while playing hits like Lit Up and Say Fuck It or LeMieux and his comedic facial expressions, the audience was completely entertained.

The sold out crowd of just under 8000, was completely into the set. Fans of all ages, and musical genres, couldn’t help but sing along to the ballad Sorry, however the place went wild with the first note of Crazy Bitch. The show ended with an introduction of band members during a jam of James Brown’s Sex Machine, Donna Summer’s Bad Girls, Prince’s Irresistible Bitch, and mentioned a tribute to Tina Turner with Proud Mary all squished into Crazy Bitch.

Always one of my favorite bands to see live, I would suggest not missing a show when they come through.
