Wednesday night, The Fell returned to Western New York with a packed house at The Evening Star Concert Hall. This performance was part of a short seven-show warm-up run ahead of a summer tour overseas, marking the band’s first live appearances since relaunching this past fall. The anticipation in the room was tangible, with fans eager to see the group perform songs from their new EP Killswitch alongside fresh material.

Much of the excitement centered on Billy Sheehan, whose hometown proximity made the night feel personal. Watching a musician of his stature up close, just a few feet away, gave longtime fans a sense of nostalgia and connection. Sheehan’s presence alone set a high bar for the evening, but it quickly became clear that the night was about the full band’s chemistry as much as individual talent.

Mike Krompass, The Fell – Evening Star, Niagara Falls, NY

Vocalist and Australian powerhouse, Toby Rand led the charge with commanding energy, hitting every note with precision while engaging the audience between songs. The guitar work of Mike Krompass stood out, reflecting his multi-Platinum background as a producer, songwriter, mixer, and engineer, without feeling overindulgent. Behind the kit, Nick Chiarore anchored the performance with powerful, steady rhythms that propelled each song forward and gave the set a relentless drive reminiscent of classic rock’s most thunderous drummers.

The set opened with “Trippin” and never lost momentum, spanning ninety minutes of high energy rock. Midway through, Sheehan’s bass solo drew one of the loudest reactions of the night, reminding the audience why he remains one of rock’s most innovative players. The band performed all five tracks from Killswitch along with several new songs, keeping fans fully engaged even on first listens. “Dancing on a Glass Floor” emerged as the standout, combining irresistible hooks with a modern rock punch that left the crowd singing along.
