Lights Brings Come Get Your Girl Tour to Buffalo, NY

Lights brought the party to Buffalo’s Town Ballroom. From hits spanning her 2009 debut to new tracks from A6EXTENDED, the award winning artist made the night electric with a packed, high energy crowd. Come Get Your Girl has never felt more alive.

Lights {Valerie Anne Poxleitner-Bokan}, a multiple award winner who has earned several Canadian Independent Music Awards as well as Juno Awards including Pop Album of the Year, has been making music since 2009 and brought her Come Get Your Girl Tour to Town Ballroom on a wintry Saturday night in March. She opened the show with “Come Get Your Girl” immediately setting the tone. Bright synths filled the historic room as her clear vocals carried easily over the packed crowd, fans sang along instantly, and the intimate setting made the performance feel personal. The night also marked the live celebration of her most recent release, A6EXTENDED, which dropped this past January.
The setlist moved comfortably across her catalog, blending newer songs with longtime favorites. Highlights included “River,” “Ghost Girl on First,” and the always welcomed “Running With the Boys”, which quickly turned the room into a loud sing along. A medley featuring “Timing Is Everything,” “Flux and Flow,” and “We Were Here” gave longtime listeners a brief but meaningful run through different eras of her music, while more driving tracks like “Batshit” and “Prodigal Daughter” kept the energy steady throughout the night. A fun surprise came with a cover of Blink-182’s “All the Small Things,” adding a nostalgic, crowd pleasing moment to the night.
Even with the electronic production driving much of the set, Lights allowed space for quieter moments. Songs like “Take It Easy” and “Don’t Go Home Without Me” slowed the pace and brought a more reflective tone, giving the audience a chance to focus on the lyrics and emotion behind them. Those moments helped strengthen the connection in the room before the tempo lifted again.

Visually, the performance stayed simple but effective. Lights moved confidently around the stage and kept up a steady level of interaction with the crowd through quick conversations, high fives, and small moments between songs. During “FINAL ROUND” a gaming chair appeared onstage as part of the album’s visual theme, and later in the set Lights tossed paper airplanes with handwritten notes into the audience, creating small personal moments that fans eagerly reached for.
Across a set of more than twenty songs, Lights showed both control and versatility as a performer. Her vocals moved smoothly between softer, introspective moments and the bigger, more energetic choruses that defined the night. By the end of the show, she had delivered a performance that felt polished but genuine, proving that her music connects just as strongly in a packed club as it does on record.
